Halloween at Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo is gearing up for a spooktacular event this Halloween celebrating with games, competitions and their always-in-costume characters, the Tasmanian Devils! Queensland Museum will be at the Zoo on the day with an amazing live spider display. Get up close and personal with these incredible creatures, and you may even catch a live feeding of the beautiful arachnids. It will make your skin crawl. Halloween isn’t just for humans, watch their animals enjoy this spooky holiday too. Their treats will be in the form of fun-filled pumpkins! They will have plenty of treats on the day including free spooky face-painting , a fancy dress competition, trick or treating in their gift shops and carve your own jack-o’-lantern workshops. There’ll be plenty of games including the mummy wrap, zombie races and the super spider egg snatch. Plus your chance to win some great prizes by finding the mysterious black cats hidden around the Zoo! Halloween guests will also have the opportunity to judge the staff pumpkin carving competition, a hotly contested title at Australia Zoo each October. Halloween will be a fang-tastic day out at Australia Zoo!

Highlighting the exciting world of chillies, herbs and spices through a fusion of food, music and people, the Hot91 Ignite Chilli Festival is almost too hot to handle.

 

Reigniting in Downtown Caloundra on Saturday 17 November 2018, this food fiesta will include cooking demonstrations from celebrity chef Matt Sinclair, roving entertainment, food, music, stalls and of course the annual Chilli Eating Championships.

The Hot91 Ignite Chilli Festival has been ranked within the top 20 Best Food & Drink Festivals within Australia!

Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair

Caloundra Arts Centre Association’s popular Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair is on again! A wonderful array of quality handcrafted goods made by C.A.C.A. members will be on sale. This is a marvellous opportunity to support your local community and pick up some authentic hand-made Australian products for yourself or family and friends. All rooms at the 5 North Street Centre will be filled with an interesting and exciting selection of handicrafts including Pottery, Woodwork, original Art and Pastels to Handmade Lace, Quilting, Embroidery and Jewellery (to name but a few!). Christmas is not far away so this is an ideal opportunity to get in and purchase some early gifts. Handmade Christmas decorations and cards are a feature. Eftpos facilities are available, plenty of free parking too. The cake stall featuring genuine homemade goodies, including pickles, jams, slices and cakes is extremely popular and sells out very quickly. Plant stall, pre-loved books and magazines will tempt the serious browser with some great bargains. Raffles will be available for people to try their luck with wonderful prizes including a Gourmet food Basket valued at AUD250. Light refreshments will be available.

Rip Curl Gromsearch

The Rip Curl GromSearch is a worldwide series of events designed for grommets. The GromSearch Series runs in 10 different countries with over 5,000 competitors worldwide. The Australian series is made up of five events as well as a National final. Participants for the National final are determined from the GromSearch ratings, counting a surfers best 2 results across the series. In 2018 the winner of each divisions in each respective event of the series will be guaranteed entry into the National final, their seed in the National final will be determined by their best 2 results total on the 2018 Rip Curl GromSearch Rankings. Some incredible surfers have come through the series including current WSL World Tour athletes Gabriel Medina, Stephanie Gilmore, Jordy Smith, Matt Wilkinson, Owen Wright, Sally Fitzgibbons, Kolohe Andino, Nat Young and Felipe Toledo.

The Screaming Jets – Gotcha Covered Tour
